This year, we celebrate the Food is Medicine program and the lives it's nourishing across New Mexico. Community Health workers are at the heart of this work, meeting patients where they are and combining nutrition counseling, education and direct food access to address health at its most fundamental level.

Through programs like Northern Roots, a produce prescription initiative, participants receive fresh, locally grown produce. As one participant put it, "It's really helped me realize the importance of diet and consistency."

Currently serving patients across multiple Albuquerque locations and Northern New Mexico, the program is growing and the need remains great.
